Fulín praises ETCC team, vows to enjoy Nordschelife experience


qual.jpgPetr Fulín thanked his Křenek Motorsport team after qualifying P2 for Race 1 at FIA ETCC Race of Nürburgring Nordschleife today.

Despite missing out on pole in the closing moments of the session, Czech driver Fulín said it had been a “good qualifying”.

“I would like to say thanks to my team because the most important is to enjoy this weekend,” he said. “I had good qualifying but as I told you I would like to enjoy this special weekend because this track is something special and we made maximum and we will see.”

Race 2 flash: Sizzling Schreiber’s double ETCC delight

The Swiss took the lead when team-mate and compatriot Peter Rikli suffered driveshaft failure with the finish in sight and fended off a late challenge from Kazakhstan’s Alexandr Artemyev for his third win of the campaign.

Race 1 flash: Schreiber holds off Szabó for ETCC gold


18425199_1001539336642678_1798839796451206305_n.jpgChristjohannes Schreiber held on to win a thrilling Race 1 at FIA ETCC Race of Hungaroring, just doing enough to beat home hero Zsolt Dávid Szabó for his second victory of the season.

Szabó started from pole but a poor getaway dropped him to sixth and allowed Schreiber through into the lead. While Schreiber edged ahead, Szabó began a thrilling fight back, passing Zengő Motorsport team-mate Norbert Nagy for second place on the inside of Turn 5 on lap seven.

Qualifying report: Szabó heads all-Hungarian ETCC front row

While it proved a frustrating afternoon for the Kazakhstan driver on his return to ETCC action, there was further cause for local celebration with Norbert Nagy joining his compatriot and Zengő Motorsport team-mate Szabó on the front row of the grid for an all-Hungarian 1-2
