The Krenek Motorsport team set two of the fastest three lap times during the day’s second ETCC test session. Once again it was Petr Fulín who set the quickest time (1:30.845), with his teammate Michal Matějovský third fastest, thanks to a best lap of 1:31.691.

The two Super 2000 BMW cars were split by the SEAT León of Dušan Borković, who recovered from failing to complete a single timed lap in the first session to set the second fastest time (1:31.204) in the second.

Behind the trio of S2000 cars, it was Aurélien Comte (1:31.712) who was the best of the Single-Make Trophy drivers. His SEAT León Supercópa was fourth overall, a fraction under two-tenths of a second quicker than his nearest challenger in the SMT, the current series leader Jordi Oriola (1:31.909). In Super 1600, it was Erwin Lukas who set the fastest time (1:42.948) in his first appearance in a Citroën C2 VTS.

Following the two red flag periods in the first session, this time there were no stoppages. There were, however, several minor incidents; ‘Romeo Luciano’ went into the gravel at Turn 10 with around fifteen minutes of the one-hour session remaining, while Andrina Gugger’s Honda briefly left the track at Turn 5 shortly afterwards. Finally, the SMT car of Anton Ladygin took to the escape road at Turn 1 in the closing minutes.

Tomorrow sees two half-hour Free Practice sessions, at 11.00 and 11.45 CET, before Qualifying begins at 16.05.
