Christjohannes Schreiber defeated his team-mate and S2000 championship leader Petr Fulín to claim pole position for the FIA ETCC Race of Slovakia Ring.

Competing in just his second event in the ETCC, Schreiber moved ahead of Fulín at the top of the times with around 12 minutes of the half-hour session remaining. The Swiss driver’s lap of 2m12.771s was good enough to hold on to pole until the end, 0.109s ahead of fellow Křenek Motorsport SEAT driver Fulín.

Fábio Mota carried over his fine form from practice into qualifying to claim third in his Lema Racing SEAT ahead of Free Practice pacesetter and Honda Civic driver Kris Richard. Norbert Nagy was fifth for Zengő Motorsport, just edging out double FIA European Hill Climb champion Igor Stefanovski, while Peter Rikli beat Mladen Lalušić to seventh.

Ulrike Krafft claimed the S1600 pole position in her Ford Fiesta, half a second ahead of Andrii Levtushenko.

Defending S1600 champion and double Paul Ricard class winner Niklas Mackschin had to make do with third place, losing out to Yevtushenko by just 0.042s.
