Christjohannes Schreiber led the way in the first of today’s test sessions for rounds three and four of the FIA European Touring Car Cup at the Slovakia Ring.

Schreiber, who made his ETCC debut two weeks ago at Paul Ricard, headed a one-two for Křenek Motorsport at the Czech team’s ‘local’ round, with points leader Petr Fulín 0.553 seconds off his team-mate’s best time of 2m12.495s.

“I am happy to be fastest but quite surprised,” said Swiss Schreiber. “Although I don’t know the car so well it makes my job a bit easier that I’ve been to this track before when I was racing in the Clio Cup. We were locking the brakes a few times so there will be some different things to try for the next session because we are not at 100 per cent.”

Serbia’s Mladen Lalušić was at the sharp end throughout in another TCN2-specification SEAT and finished up third in front of fellow León drivers Norbert Nagy and Fabio Mota and the Honda Civic pairing of Peter Rikli and Kris Richard. Wolfgang Kriegl was eighth on his debut in the car of Andreas Pfister.

Super 1600 leader Niklas Mackschin was P10 overall ahead of Ukranian drivers Andrii Levtuschenko and Ksenia Niks. The second test session takes place at 14h40.
