Victory and podium finishes for Krenek Motorsport race drivers

The third race weekend of this year's FIA ETCC round brought the Prague team Krenek Motorsport a first, second and third place. Petr Fulin became the first winner of the ETCC Nürburgring Nordschleife race.

The Nürburgring Nordschleife is maybe the toughest race track in the world and one of the most challenging events for a race driver.

Petr Fulin who set the fastest pace in qualifying finished the first race with a start-finish victory and became the first winner of the FIA ETCC race at the notorious Nordschleife. In the second race, Petr Fulin came third behind his teammate Christjohannes Schreiber, who made his first podium finish in ETCC with a second place. Christjohannes Schreiber who startet race one from eleventh position, due to a fivegrid-penalty from his race at Slovakiaring, achived an excellent sixth place finish.

"It was a challenging but great weekend. I drove here for gaining the most possible amount of points and I think it went well. The Nürburgring is a beautiful race track, full of jumps and highspeed passages. The trees here are very close and you going through this green tunnel at the speed of over 200 km/h. Coming from first of the grid I had to focus on a good start and then try to hold my position. I could hold my first postion till the end, without driving to defensively. The second race was for me very different. I startet from eight position and had a lot of fights and could move up to third place. It was a race weekend how it should be!" said Petr Fulin after grabbing first postion on the championship leaderboards.

Christjohannes Schreiber took 11 points from the Nürburgring race and especially enjoyed his first podium finish in his first ETCC season. "I am happy with my performance during this weekend. It had to fight very hard in both races, because I didnt have much experience on this difficult race track. My team did a great job and gave my a car to fight for the podium. It was an amazing race weekend and I feel more and more comfortable in the car."

The final words belong to the team manager, Mr. Josef Krenek: " First of all I want to thank Petr Fulin and Christjohannes Schreiber for doing such a great job. But also I would like to thank all team members. Whether they were preparing the cars or working in the kitchen. Everyone worked with maximum effort and they did a great job. It was not a easy weekend for us, but luckely we avoided any larger collisions and could score some important points for the championship. A big thanks goes to the engineers from SEAT and all the technical partners."

Round 7 and 8 of the 2016 ETCC Season will take place on the last weekend of June (24 to 26) on the street circuit in Portugal Villa Real.
